House of Night

The House of Night series follows 16-year-old Zoey Redbird as she is 'marked' by a vampire tracker and begins changing into an actual vampire. In this alternate society, newly identified vampires leave their families and attend a boarding school to get guidance and training for their new lives. Zoey moves into a House of Night in Tulsa, OK, where she immediately comes into conflict with the resident "mean girls."

In addition to regular teenage girl drama throughout the series, Zoey learns that she has been specially chosen by the vampire goddess, Nyx, and given extraordinary powers. Probably not the best way to start out a new school year!

The series merges Native American lore with traditional supernatural fare and plunges Zoey and her friends into danger as they go up against sinister villains intent on bending nature's forces their way. Evil is on the loose - talk about high school being hell!

This series contains some mature scenes, but nothing you can't handle, right?

For grades 9 and up.
